William Bruce Ellis Ranken (1881–1941) was an Edwardian aesthete,〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Artist Spotlight: William Bruce Ellis Ranken )〕 born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1881 to Robert Burk Ranken, a wealthy and successful lawyer, and his wife Mary. His output became prodigious as he worked in watercolors, oils and pastels.
